Orange's Freezing Forecast: Latest Details on How Cold it Will Get

The coldest temps are forecast tonight and we'll let you know how cold it will get. Also you'll need your umbrella one day this week too.

Now that we’re done with the snow, hopefully until next year, the story turns to the arctic blast we’re enduring, which doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

Though we’re into early April, the temps and windchill make it feel like February and the worst of it is coming tonight. A “Freeze Warning” has been issued for the immediate Connecticut coastline from Greenwich to New London from 8 p.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Wednesday.

But the bottom line is it will be freezing everywhere tonight in Connecticut.

Here’s the freezing forecast minus Thursday’s very brief warm up, which includes rain, via the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: Sunshine and temps only into the mid 30s.

Tuesday night: Temps fall back to near 20 on the immediate Shoreline and into the teens in inland and northern sections of Connecticut. Temps could be as low as 16 degrees right around daybreak Wednesday.

Wednesday: Sunshine and a tad warmer with temps into the low 40s but the wind makes it feel as cold as 15 degrees at times!

Wednesday night: Temps remain near 40 degrees as rain moves in.

Thursday: Rain, temps back into the mid 50s and an inch of rain is possible through late Thursday.

Friday: Showers are possible but mostly cloudy conditions and temps around 50 degrees.

The chilly weekend forecast

Saturday: Sunshine but temps only approach 45 degrees.

Saturday night: Temps all the way back down to the mid 20s.

Sunday: Sunshine and temps only into the low 40s.

Sunday: Temps back down to the freezing mark.
