Vehicle Fire in Orange Slows Traffic On I-95

ORANGE, CT — Traffic is snarled on Interstate 95 in Orange late this morning as the state Department of Transportation is reporting a tractor trailer fire on the southbound side of the highway.

According to the DOT's Twitter feed, the blaze is about 0.66 miles past Exit 41 and before Exit 40, which is at March Hill Road.

The incident was first reported at 10:48 a.m., according to the DOT.

The state is reporting that the three, right-hand lanes of the interstate are closed as emergency personnel tend to the scene.

The BreakingNowCT news Twitter feed posted an image this morning showing fire crews surrounding what appears to be a smoky, smoldering tractor trailer car carrier with several vehicles being transported.
