Warmer Weekend But Snow, Storm Chances Upcoming for Orange

The forecast over the next week looks pretty unsettled based on the latest National Weather Service forecast. But, it’s not all bad news, and this weekend looks 90 percent amazing as we’ll be in the 50s Saturday and Sunday.

But there are a few chances for snowflakes and a “very large storm” could impact us for days next week, writes WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Kevin Arnone. More on that below.

Here’s what to expect over the next week:

Friday: Colder temps with highs in the mid 30s. Tonight, just before midnight there is a chance of rain and snow showers, and after midnight for southern Connecticut it turns to plain rain early Saturday morning and ends before daybreak.

No accumulation is expected for southern Connecticut, but Hartford and Tolland counties could see up to an inch of snow, which will mix with rain late and end by around 8 a.m., the National Weather Service states.

Saturday: Amazing, sun and temps statewide near 50 degrees.

Saturday night: Milder with temps in the mid to upper 30s.

Sunday: mostly sunny, and temps near 50 degrees.

Sunday night: rain and snow after midnight, and then a chance for all snow before daybreak, which could impact Monday’s morning commute, the National Weather Service and Arnone state.

The Next Big Storm?

Currently, the National Weather Service has snow forecast for Tuesday night and on Wednesday and Thursday snow and rain are forecast for both days, with a return to snow on Thursday night.

Obviously, this is many days away and will change. For now Arnone predicts the track will mean more rain and strong winds for Connecticut than snow accumulation.
