Winter Team State Championship History: Amity Regional
Amity Regional High School teams have won 10 state championships in winters past.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — As practices for Connecticut high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of all 10 winter team titles won by Amity Regional High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).
- boys indoor track (4) - Class L: 2009; State Open: 2006; Class LL: 2006, 2005
- boys ice hockey (2) - Div. II: 2010, 2008
- girls indoor track (2) - Class LL: 2005; Class L: 1998
- boys swimming (1) - Class L: 1999
- girls basketball (1) - Class LL: 1980
