Rotary Club Of Ridgefield Names 'Citizen Of The Year'

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Rotary Club Of Ridgefield has named Dan O'Brien "Citizen of the Year."

The motto of the Rotarians is "Service Above Self," and Rotary officials cited O'Brien for "always willing to go the extra mile, quietly and never seeking accolades."

A 30-year resident of Ridgefield, O'Brien serves as:

• Ridgefield Historic District Commission chair
• Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, past president, and current Board member
• RVNAhealth Board member, currently serving on the Finance, Investment and Audit Committees
• Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Board as its treasurer for many years and is now Board president of its Endowment Fund.
• Former Advisory Board member of The Ridgefield Playhouse.
• Former Board member of The Lounsbury House.
• Former Board member of the Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center Endowment Fund.
• General partner with J. H. Whitney & Co., an investment firm in New Canaan.
