MYSTIC, CT — Mystic Seaport Museum has landed on a list of the 25 Most Beautiful Landmarks in the country, according to Trips to Discover. Other landmarks on the list include icons like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Niagara Falls in New York, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

Trips to Discover called Mystic Seaport "the nation’s leading maritime museum." The museum was founded in 1929 and "is home to four National Historic Landmark vessels, including the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaleship in the world."

The site praised Mystic Seaport for featuring a working preservation shipyard, a recreated 19th-century seafaring village, fascinating exhibits, and a planetarium.
