Resident Fires Paintballs At Suspect During Robbery Attempt: Trumbull Police

TRUMBULL, CT — A resident thwarted an attempted robbery at their Trumbull home Thursday night by firing paintballs at the suspect, according to police.

In a news release, police said officers received a report around 9:30 p.m. of a possible robbery attempt on Knecht Farm Road.

The resident reported an unknown suspect walked down their driveway when they returned home that night.

The suspect raised their arm, pointed at the resident and told the resident to hand over their belongings, according to police.

The resident then grabbed a paintball gun from inside of their home and began firing paintballs at the suspect, at which time another suspect was spotted nearby, police said.

Both suspects entered an awaiting four-door white sedan and fled the area. No weapons were observed, no items were taken and no injuries were reported, according to police.

Police also noted the incident appears to be isolated and no further information was provided to officers.
