From Sept. 13 to Oct. 11, the Wallingford Public Library &amp; Spanish Community of Wallingford (SCOW) will co-host Friday night film screenings that explore Latine characters and culture in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month.&nbsp;Our first film in the series will be the 2021 animated film Encanto (Rated PG). This delightful musical fantasy tells the story of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift -- every child except Mirabel. However, when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger, she may be her family's greatest hope.&nbsp;

Wait. A FAIR for DOGS? Sure, they’ll need to bring their humans, but EVERYONE has fun - we promise you. This fair is our annual fundraiser that covers expenses for our semi-annual shelter dog adoption events so please join in the fun or share the word for us. HBCT organizes, hosts, and promotes adoption events to help rescues get their dogs adopted – at no cost to them! We were started by a group of friends who are committed to finding homes for the millions of dogs who are languishing and dying in kill shelters across the country.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month at the Wallingford Public Library!
Individuals who sign up for a new library card during September will be entered into a prize drawing for 1 of 5 gift certificates to local businesses (there will be 5 winners). To be entered into the drawing, the participants must be Wallingford residents and must be registering for a new card (i.e., a patron renewing an existing card is not eligible).
For everyone else, we will be bringing back Library Card Sign-Up Month BINGO! The BINGO game will be open to all library users. There will be a separate prize drawing for those who participate in the BINGO game with gift certificates to local businesses for our 5 winners.
