Obit: Sebastiano Rizza, 91, Of Wethersfield

Sebastiano Rizza, 91, of Wethersfield, loving husband of Sebastiana (Russo) Rizza, entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born on June 20, 1927 in Palazzolo Acreide, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Paolo and Salvatrice (Curcio) Rizza. Sebastiano worked in construction as a mason. He was a longtime communicant of St. Luke’s Church. Sebastiano especially enjoyed gardening and he loved sharing his vegetables with family and friends. Most of all he was a devoted family man; his true pleasure in life was time spent with his family. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Sebastiano will be missed by his wife of 67 years, Sebastiana along with his daughter, Salvatrice Rosenzweig of Rocky Hill and his son, Paul Rizza and wife Alfina of South Windsor. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Erica Rosenzweig of New York City, Julia Rizza and Emily Rizza of South Windsor, along with his nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Giuseppe Rizza, Paula Angelico, Francesca Pantano and Salvatore Rizza.

Sebastiano’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 6th from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Parish (St. Luke Church), 66 Bolton Street, Hartford.
