Hike the Peaks Challenge Brings Winners to Norfolk Trails

Take a hike this weekend in Norfolk to win a prize...and to see beautiful vistas!

Do you love a challenge? Are you fit? You can be a WINner during Weekend in Norfolk (August 5, 6 and 7) by taking the land trust’s Hike the Peaks Challenge (bring your cell phone along).

You’re invited to take part in the Norfolk Land Trust’s exciting event by going out on their trails on August 6 and 7 (August 5 is for an advance exploration). Hike all six peaks, take a selfie next to the elevation sign, and win a prize at the land trust table. The six peaks are Pine Mountain, East Summit Ridge, Haystack Mountain, Beech Hill, Dennis Hill Gazebo and Dennis Hill Pavilion. If you don't have time for all six hikes, land trust representatives can tailor a hike that will fit into your schedule and/or interest.
Trail guides and maps will be available at the Weekend in Norfolk welcome tent on the village green.

Weekend in Norfolk, August 5, 6 and 7, is a three-day, town-wide art, music and nature festival. Events run the gamut from art exhibits to nature walks, world-class music to a watermelon-eating contest, a quilt show and boat-building demonstrations to the opportunity to get married on the Village Green, and new events are still being added. Visit weekendinnorfolk.org for event times and details. For more area information www.litchfieldhills.com
