Kate Nouhan, of Boca Raton, FL, has been selected for the Television Academy Foundation’s prestigious 2020 Summer Fellows program.

Nouha, currently a senior at Creighton University working toward her B.S.B.A in marketing, was a casting fellow this summer through the Television Academy Foundation's summer program.

Normally, the Television Academy Foundation’s annual Internship Program provides 50 paid internships, at top Hollywood studios and production companies, to college students nationwide. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Television Academy Foundation had to re-imagine its internship program this year offering the 50 students selected from across the country the chance to either intern remotely or enroll as a Summer Fellow.

“Having wanted to work in the television industry since I was in elementary school, this fellowship means the world to me,” said Nouhan. “Coming from a school in Nebraska and trying to break into an industry where jobs are primarily on the coasts has presented a great challenge for me. I have tried to use that challenge as a way to stand out as well as a motivator, and I am extremely thankful for this opportunity, which I hope -- when combined with continued hard work -- will help open more doors for me that will enable me to reach my career goals.”

The Summer Fellows Program included virtual one-on-one visits with professionals in a student’s field of study, online panels with leaders in the television industry, and customized seminars covering personal brand building and navigating the job market ahead. Fellows also become life-long members of the Foundation’s alumni family giving them access to events and networking opportunities as they build their careers in the television industry.
