The day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. at the Perkins, located in Clearwater at 2626 Gulf to Bay Blvd. With a donation to Give Kids The World, you can have free pancakes all day.

All proceeds will go to the Give The Kids The World Village (<a href="https://www.gktw.org" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.gktw.org</a>). Give Kids The World Village is an 89-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida. Here, children with critical illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations.

The Clearwater Arts Alliance is pleased to host docent-led art walks on select Saturdays so all can enjoy a stroll while learning about downtown Clearwater’s vibrant public art scene. Participants will see at least 20 unique art installations including murals, sculptures, art wrapped signal boxes and more. Plus, learn about some of our most historic downtown buildings. Tickets are $10 when purchased in advance or $15 on the day of the walk. The Art Walk begins at the Clearwater Main Library located at 100 North Osceola Ave. The walk covers the Cleveland Street corridor and nearby areas. After the walk is a great time to enjoy lunch or dinner at one of our favorite downtown restaurants.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Clearwater Marine Aquarium will offer two new movies next week - “Turtle Odyssey” and “T-Rex,” beginning Saturday, Aug. 17. The 25-minute-long movies will run daily between&nbsp;11 a.m. and 4 p.m., as an added guest attraction in the Visitor’s Center’s Dolphin Tale Theater.
The movies are free with the price of admission to the Aquarium.
Narrated by Russell Crowe, Turtle Odyssey explores the unique lifecycle of an Australian green sea turtle named Bunji and her incredible journey across the open ocean. The film follows Bunji from a hatchling into adulthood as she swims thousands of miles, meets incredible creatures and has some really wild encounters.
CMA will offer T-Rex, which invites guests into the world of dinosaurs in a high energy, immersive film featuring three kids who discovere a ‘teenage” rex fossil, in a remarkable true story.

CMA Invites Guests to New Movies: “Turtle Odyssey” and “T-Rex”

The American Legion Post 7 in Clearwater is proud to host a fundraising event to benefit Operation Warrior Hope, a veteran suicide prevention program, Sat. Aug. 17 from 3 to 7PM.
This special evening will feature a professional wine tasting by PRP Wine International, hand-crafted hors d'oeuvres infused with Posty's Marinade, and handmade desserts provided by friends of the American Legion Post 7. Wine and marinade bottles will be available for sale with commissions and profits donated to Operation Warrior Hope.
“More veterans die by suicide each year than in battle,” said Ken Branch, a representative of Operation Warrior Hope. “Our organization is committed to reducing [Tampa] Bay Area veteran suicides by enhancing access to care. With more than 1.4 million combat veterans in Florida and 21,000-plus veterans in Tampa Bay, the need here is significant.”
Event tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online through Eventbrite or at the door the day of the event. There will also be an auction for various prize baskets filled with gift cards, home-good items, and more, plus a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds from ticket sales, auction bids, and the raffle will support Operation Warrior Hope's mission of aiding veterans and their families struggling with mental health concerns and homelessness.
“Our daily outreach allows us to help more veterans rediscover purpose and instill hope in their lives,” said Branch. “Last year, our program helped reduce veteran homelessness in Tampa Bay by 33% and prevented at least 50 veteran-related suicides.”
The American Legion Post 7, which initiated Operation Warrior Hope, is committed to supporting U.S. veterans and their families. This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy an evening featuring fine wines, delicious food, and the chance to win great prizes, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
“We are excited for this partnership with PRP [Wine International] and Posty’s [Marinade] to bring this event to the community in support of our Legion’s central cause,” said Dave Marsh, American Legion Post 7 Commander. “Hosting events like this helps raise awareness for the struggles of our veterans right here in Clearwater and Tampa Bay and funds to literally battle these issues and fight for the men and women who sacrificed to protect our freedoms.”

Make A Difference Fishing Tournament, Inc. is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization, IRS # 59-3587905. Our organization is dedicated to helping children with disabilities through fishing tournaments and marine education.&nbsp;
We also have a grant program to help the children and their families by funding equipment and therapies that make their lives better. We have provided over $525,000.00 in grants since 2006.
We have no paid staff and are a totally volunteer organization. We started in 1995 and have been able to help thousands of children and their families thanks to the generous contributions of donors and our great volunteers.
Our 29th Casino Night Auction/Benefit will be held Saturday August 17, 2024 at the Hilton&nbsp;Clearwater Beach Resort. Hundreds of people attend this event to support our cause and have a good time. Our silent and live auctions feature a variety of items, including assorted gift baskets, fishing charters, hotel stays, trips, gourmet dinner parties and so much more. The food for this event is donated by Baystar Restaurant Group, Clear Sky Cafe, Capogna's Dugout, Hog Island Fish Camp, and Hooters.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s end-of-summer Aquatic Luau celebration. Enjoy live
entertainment, Hawaiian cuisine and marine life in an enchanting atmosphere
Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., as part of the Aquarium's after-hours
series, offering guests a unique waterfront experience. 

Join CMA for an unforgettable
night under the stars, bidding farewell to summer in true island style, while
supporting the Aquarium’s mission of rescue, rehabilitation and release.
Entertainment includes a Samoan traditional fire knife dance and traditional
dancers from the Polynesian, Hawaiian, Samoan and Tahitian cultures, who will
also offer dance lessons. 


General admission tickets are
$55 for adults and $45 for children. Each GA ticket holder will receive four
sample tickets to enjoy a variety of Luau-themed food and drink, (non-alcoholic
options for children), savoring the tastes of the islands with these exclusive
samples. Additional dining options will be available for purchase throughout
until 9:30 p.m. Cash bars available throughout the Aquarium. 

VIP tickets are $75 and $65 for
children. VIP tickets include admission from 6 - 8:30 p.m., exclusive
entertainment, private buffet dining in the Jacobson Ballroom, provided by
Proof of the Pudding, and one alcoholic/nonalcoholic drink ticket. 

CMA Members receive 10% off any
ticket and will receive early admission at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for
