Burger Monger, Panera, Bobkatz Bar Cited By Health Inspectors

Raw food, debris on shake machine and standing water on floor are a few of the violations found at Pasco County restaurants.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – Raw food being offered, debris on shake machine and standing water on a kitchen floor are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently at Pasco County restaurants.

  • Panera Bread Co #921, 3234 Little Rd, New Port Richey, was cited for nine violations on April 3, including a microwave with burn holes; ice buildup in walk-in freezer; boxes of gloves stored on floor under hand sink in back; and soil residue buildup on nonfood-contact surface.
  • Burger Monger, 1656 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Wesley Chapel, was cited for 11 violations on April 2, including raw/undercooked animal food offered (must be fully cooked prior to service); accumulation of food debris/grease on stems of shake machine; ice chute soiled/buildup of mold-like substance; and food service manager not certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Bobkatz Bar & Grill, 12340 Us Hwy 19 N, Hudson, was cited for 27 violations on April 1 but complied on all but six violations in a follow-up inspection on April 2. They included a cutting board with cut marks and no longer cleanable; exterior door with a gap at the threshold that opens to the outside; and improper lighting in walk-in cooler.
  • Marco's Pizza, 27616 Wesley Chapel Blvd, Wesley Chapel, was cited for 11 violations on March 25 (an extension was given pending a call-back inspection), including floor area(s) covered with standing water under three-compartment sink; 2-liter bottles of soda stored on floor; wet mop stored improperly.

In the last 30 days, 43 Pasco County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 76 restaurants aced the first visit.

The inspectors made note of eight Pasco County restaurants that passed inspections without any violations in the past month: Riverside Seafood Market & Restaurant, 5347 Gall Blvd., Zephyrhills; Whiskey Joe's, 7835 Bayview St., Port Richey; Reel BBQ, 1754 Blue Lake Court, Tarpon Springs; J&M BBQ, 5151 Gall Blvd., Zephyrhills; Taco De Oro #3, 2528 Glenrise Pl, Wesley Chapel; Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 23673 Sr 54 Ste E1, Lutz; Taqueria La Caaada, 37007 Lock St., Dade City; and Ridge Road Tavern, 6205 Ridge Road, Port Richey.
