11 FL Counties Report New Deaths From Coronavirus; 32,138 Cases

Eleven of Florida's 67 counties reported new deaths from the coronavirus Monday as the number of new cases rose by 610.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Eleven of Florida's 67 counties reported new deaths from the coronavirus Monday as the number of new cases rose by 610 over the previous 24-hour-period for a total of 32,138 cases.

The number of people who died from the virus in Florida climbed to 1,088 as of Monday, up from 1,074 a day earlier. That's an increase of 14 deaths since Sunday.

Broward County reported four new deaths. Miami-Dade reported one new death as did Palm Beach County. Those three counties account for about 60 percent of all Florida cases.

Duval County, which reopened its beaches in the Jacksonville area on April 17, reported one new death from the virus on Monday.

Clay County also reported another death Monday as did Hernando County, Leon County, Pasco County, Pinellas County, St. Lucie County and Volusia County.

Miami-Dade reported a total of 11,570 confirmed cases, more than any other county. Nearby Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 4,794 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes West Palm Beach, reported 2,763 cases.

Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 1,062 cases as of Monday. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 1,339 cases.
