‘A’ Grade Rating For Sarasota County Schools For 20th Consecutive Year

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — For the 20th consecutive year, Sarasota County Schools has earned an “A” grade from the Florida Department of Education for the 2022-23 school year, according to a news release from the school district.

It also maintained its standing as the fifth highest-ranked school district in the state.

Twenty-four of the district’s 39 traditional public schools earned the highest rating from FDE.
Six traditional public elementary schools increased one grade level, and two traditional public elementary schools increased two grade levels.

“This significant achievement reflects Sarasota County Schools’ commitment to academic excellence and the dedication of our students, families, teachers, staff members, and community partners,” the district said. “We are steadfast in our commitment to continuous enhancement, ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education.”

Superintendent Terry Connor called the district’s teachers “the driving force behind our students’ success,” noting that they “deserve special recognition.”

He said, “They have demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience and expertise in their work.”
