SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A public hearing for potential changes to transit fares will take place Oct. 11 in the Robert L. Anderson Administration Center, 4000 S. Tamiami Trail.

The fare changes would impact Sarasota County Area Transit services including bus, paratransit and OnDemand, according to a county news release. If approved, the new fares would go into effect Nov. 1.

A public meeting is also scheduled for Sept. 22, 6 p.m., at the Selby Public Library, 1331 First Street. The suggested fees will be proposed during this event.

The changes would simplify fares and bring them into alignment with other counties in the area, according to Jane Grogg, director of transit.
