ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Barry Rubin, president of the Treasure Island & Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce, is running for the St. Petersburg City Council District 3 seat.

He faces five opponents in the race: Peter Boland, Nicholas Carey, Juan Lopez Estevez, Michael Harting and Joshua Nwajei.

Why are you running for office?

After three decades of service to the citizens of St. Petersburg a position on council will allow me to better address key issues like flood mitigation, out of control insurance premiums, and promote fiscal responsibility. I will continue to foster a business-friendly environment, enhance public services, and represent residents' needs. It's a chance to help improve the quality of life for our children and our children's children.
