Why are you running for office?

St. Pete has done an exceptional job of being a welcoming city, and still, far too many of our residents have been left out of our successes. I’ve seen Council shape policy to benefit monied interests while citing process obstacles for policies that benefit working people. I’m running to build a community that welcomes everyone and demands a more fair economy with increased access to the decision making process for everyday people in the city.

What do you think are the top 3 issues the city is currently facing?

  1. Rising Cost-of-Living: I will push to develop city-owned, mixed income social housing, reduce utility costs and invest in affordable city-run childcare to address rising costs in our city that is pushing everyday people out.
  2. Flooding caused by sea-level rise and underinvestment in our infrastructure. I will fight for investments in our stormwater and road infrastructure to protect our homes and our environment and push for a rapid path to 100% renewable energy.
  3. Growth that prioritizes financial interests over residents' quality of life. I will work to strengthen our city's parks, libraries, youth services, democracy and expand revenue generating public goods and services instead of developer profits.
