Man Charged In Fatal July Crash: St. Petersburg Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An arrest has been made in a July 20 crash that left a 68-year-old woman dead, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

Darrell Brandimore, 62, was charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving causing serious bodily injury.

He was speeding westbound on 22nd Avenue N. at the time of the crash, just before 5 p.m., police said.

Sharon Johnson, driving an SUV, was traveling north into the intersection from the stop sign at 46th Street N. when Brandimore collided with her, causing her to hit a tree, the agency said.

Her SUV continued north, hitting a truck that was sitting at the stop sign.

Johnson and a passenger in her SUV were brought to Bayfront Health, where she was pronounced dead the next day.
