McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce: Where To Find It In Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Tampa Bay area McDonald’s lovers salivating at the chance to try the limited-edition Szechuan dipping sauce will get their chance on Saturday only. The fast-food chain has announced that four locations within the region will offer a limited supply of the circa 1998 sauce on Oct. 7.

The one-day Szechuan rollout comes as buzz about its savory, sweet flavor continues to grow after it earned mentions on Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” show. With customers across the country “enthusiastically” asking for a chance to try it, McDonald’s dusted off the recipe for the sauce to coincide with the launch of a new menu item: Buttermilk Crispy Tenders. “I can’t wait for fans to taste the savory, sweet flavor of Szechuan Sauce paired with our new Buttermilk Crispy Tenders,” McDonald’s Chef Michael Haracz said. “It’s a great moment for McDonald’s and our fans.”

In addition to the return of Szechuan, McDonald’s has also rolled out limited-edition posters and stickers celebrating all its dipping sauces. The special items will be available while supplies last for customers who purchase Buttermilk Crispy Tenders. Participating locations in Tampa Bay will start offering the items starting at 2 p.m. Oct. 7. Locations – and what they’ll offer – are as follows:
