PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A 58-year-old New Jersey man died after being hit by a car while crossing Gandy Boulevard Wednesday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

He was hit around 10:30 p.m. by a car traveling east on Gandy Boulevard just east of San Fernando Boulevard.

When the driver, a 23-year-old Seminole woman, stopped and got out of her car to help the man, she was hit by a second car traveling east on Gandy Boulevard, FHP said. She was brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
