1 Dead In Cumming Wreck Near Lakeland Plaza

Forsyth County authorities said a woman died at the scene of a crash Tuesday at Georgia Highway 20.

CUMMING, GA β€” A Cumming woman is dead following a Tuesday night wreck at Georgia Highway 20 near the entrance of the Lakeland Plaza shopping center, authorities said.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, first responders were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. to an accident involving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and a semitruck.

The driver of the Sonata, which was going westbound, turned in front of the semi-truck while attempting to get in the left turning lane. The semitruck, which was traveling east in the right lane on Georgia Highway 20, was entering the plaza, authorities said.

The sheriff's office identified the driver of the Sonata as Alison Flowers, 43. Flowers died at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
