Dacula Man Dies In Single-Car Crash: Sheriff's Office

Authorities with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said a man died Friday after his car hit a light pole.

CUMMING, GA β€” The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-car crash that left a man dead Friday, according to a news release.

The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. at Chattahoochee Road, west of Shady Grove Road, the sheriff's office said in the release.

A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado hit a power pole after the driver failed to slow down at a curve, police said, noting speed was a factor in the crash.

The driver, who police identified as 33-year-old Robert Meyer, of Dacula, died at the scene, police said.

The county fire department is assisting in the investigation.
