Man Wanted For Stealing Thousands From Hindu Temple In Cumming: FCSO

Deputies said Marin Marius Michescu​, 34, and four other people stole more than $10,000 from a Hindu Temple in Cumming.

CUMMING, GA — Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office are on the lookout for a man accused of stealing a large sum of money from a Hindu temple in Cumming.

According to the sheriff's office, Marin Marius Michescu, 34, is wanted for a burglary that took place at Shree Krishna Vrundavana Temple on Shiloh Road in Cumming.

Deputies said Michescu is involved with at least four other suspects yet to be identified — three women and another man.

Authorities said the suspects took a large Sentry safe containing $3,000 to $4,000 out of one room and $10,000 in cash from another room.

They then placed the safe in a 2004 gold in color Mercedes Benz S500 with California tag 8XFB676.

Deputies said two women appeared to be in their late 20's. One was wearing a long black dress. The other woman had on a red-flowered dress.

"This is a modus operandi type of crime involving Romanian nationals, and there may be other recent cases in the Atlanta metro area," the sheriff's office posted in a BOLO alert. "These suspects then attempted to scam the victims again by calling and asking for bank information, so they can 'give their money back to the victim.'"

Deputies said Michescu is also involved in other cases along with the same suspects with the Lilburn Police Department and Clayton County Police Department.
