GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett County and Piedmont Eastside are making it easier to get vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccination clinic in southern Gwinnett open Fridays and Saturdays.

Elected officials said that diverse communities are lagging in vaccination rates, according to a news release. This clinic would address zones in Gwinnett where there are fewer health providers and pharmacies. It’s located in a building on the hospital campus at 1800 Tree Lane, Suite 250, in Snellville.

The clinic now offers all three authorized vaccines, meaning kids ages 5 and up can receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine onsite. The clinic also offers doses of the Moderna vaccine to adults ages 18 and over. Johnson & Johnson vaccines may also be provided when supply is available.

“We know some of our diverse communities are lagging in vaccination rates,” said Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux in a statement. “This critical initiative, funded by the American Rescue Plan, addresses zones in Gwinnett where there are fewer health providers and pharmacies and therefore, less access to the vaccine. This is not just about the health of an individual but the health of our community.”

Gwinnett County is applying for an American Rescue Plan funded FEMA grant to support the vaccine clinic and reach underserved populations and areas that have been lagging in vaccine access in the southern part of Gwinnett County.

“As COVID-19 cases in Gwinnett County, the state of Georgia and the country continue to decline, we want to make sure the trend stays positive,” said Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson. “I am thrilled to team up with Piedmont Eastside to continue making vaccines more accessible and help us expand our reach to an even greater audience.”

Schedule your vaccination appointment at Piedmont Eastside. Walk-ins are also welcome.
