Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. Dacula's own Madeline Ananthasane, a junior at University of North Georgia, was named the Peach Belt Golfer of the Week for her performance in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Ananthasane shot three over 216 to finish third overall in the competition and lead the Nighthawks to a fifth-place finish out of 15 Division I schools. This performance marks Ananthasane's first top-five finish of the season and gives her second place in stroke average in the conference. (Peach Belt Conference)
  2. Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers added another location to Georgia with a new location right here in Dacula. Yesterday at 8:00 a.m., the new Raising Canes location had its grand opening at 3485 Braselton Highway near Starbucks. As part of the grand opening, 20 customers who entered the store between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. were entered in a raffle to win free chicken for a year. (NewsBreak Original)
  3. The U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) has announced a group of individuals who will serve the association as ambassadors in 2023 for the program's second year in existence. The USABA program's goal is to bring visibility to athletics for the blind and more representation, support, and fundraising for these athletes. The ambassadors were selected through an application and screening process, and among those selected was Dacula's own McClain Hermes, who is a Paralympian in swimming. (TAPinto.net)
