Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:

  1. Starting Apr. 17, traffic on McMillan Road will be redirected for the stormwater improvement project's next phase. The road between Winder Highway and Stanley Road/Church Street will be closed for about five weeks, and through traffic will not be allowed during this period. Message boards have been set up to notify drivers of the closure dates, and detour signs will be placed to indicate alternate routes. (Dacula.gov)
  2. The Gwinnett County Public Library recognized the winners of its recent Teen Entrepreneurship Program. The program aimed to equip young people with resources to develop small businesses and followed a pilot program launched by the Learning Labs due to over 60 percent of teens considering entrepreneurship. Out of 31 applicants, 10 teens were selected to participate in the four-day intensive workshop held in February 2023, during which they learned entrepreneurial skills, developed business plans, and presented their concepts to a panel of judges. 3. To participate in this year's Georgia Cities Week from Apr. 23-29, Dacula is offering coloring pages for children to pick up at City Hall. The submitted artwork will be showcased during the Council Meeting on May 4 in the Council Chambers, and the artwork can be retrieved by participants after the meeting. Additionally, Mayor Trey King will be available for a photo opportunity with the children. (Dacula.gov)
