Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. USA Shooting skeet athletes competed at the International Shooting Sports Federation, Shotgun World Cup from Mar. 4-13 and earned a total of five medals with three medal winners from the state of Georgia. Will Hinton of Dacula won a gold medal with partner Alicia Gough in the Mixed Trap Team event. Other Georgia winners include Vincent Hancock of Easton who won silver in the men's skeet and Samantha Simonton of Gainesville who earned silver in the women's skeet. Hinton and Simonton are also members of the U.S. Army's Marksmanship Unit. (USA Shooting)
  2. Two things that come to mind during March are St. Patrick's Day and college basketball. For this year's NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament, there are 38 women who are Georgia natives playing for their individual universities, and of the 38, three are Gwinnett graduates. Javyn Nicholson (UGA) and Jada Rice (Alabama) are graduates of Collins Hill, and Lazaria Spearman with the Miami Hurricanes is a hometown Dacula graduate. Good luck to these Gwinnett women and all Georgians in the tournament. (Subscription: Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  3. This week's SBLive Georgia's Athlete of the Week went to Trinity Christian's own Conner DePriest on the boy's soccer team. DePreist received 55.12 percent of the votes across the state for his amazing weeklong stretch of scoring seven goals, assisting on two more goals, and leading his team to a 3-1 record over a four-game stretch. Congratulations to Conner and Trinity Christian high school, and to nominate an athlete, email or message @sblivega on Twitter or Instagram. (Scorebook Live)
