Georgia Weather Forecast: Rain Early, Then Cooler This Weekend

Low temperatures in metro Atlanta will creep down near freezing on Saturday night.

ATLANTA, GA β€” A wave of thunderstorms late Friday and early Saturday morning will usher in at least a few days of cooler weather in metro Atlanta.

After a high of 77 degrees on Friday, the National Weather Service forecast calls for a chance of showers late Friday night turning into a chance of thunderstorms in the early-morning hours.

Temperatures should still get up into the lower 60s on Saturday. But by Saturday night, the low is predicted to plummet all the way down to a windy 33 degrees.

Sunday should be cool, but with clear skies.

Friday night: A slight chance of showers between midnight and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m, then a slight chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. West wind 10 to 15 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 30 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Saturday night should be clear, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 10 to 15 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 20 m.p.h.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Northwest wind 5 to 10 m.p.h. becoming west in the afternoon. Mostly clear Sunday night, with a low around 41.
