2 New Board Seats Could Soon Be Added In Gwinnett County

A bipartisan group of legislators want the extra seats to keep up with Gwinnett County's growing population.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA β€” Gwinnett County commissioners and legislators are once again considering adding two additional seats to the board, reported the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

State Rep. Pedro Marin (D-Duluth) told the AJC that he and a bipartisan group of legislators want the two extra seats because Gwinnett County’s population has significantly grown over the decades.

State Rep. Sam Park, who chairs the Gwinnett legislative delegation, said he expects to propose new county commission and school board maps Jan. 10 when the legislative session begins.
