  1. Kaleb Edwards, a former Dacula standout who contributed to the Georgia Tech football team as a defensive back, running back, and on special teams, announced his medical retirement on Monday. During his two seasons, he made 13 tackles as a true freshman in 2021 and 11 tackles the following season before transitioning to running back. Edwards is currently a junior at Georgia Tech.   2. Deion Strayhon, 26, died in April 2021 due to alleged medical negligence while in Gwinnett County Jail, leaving his mother, Sherry Strayhon, heartbroken and seeking justice. During a press conference, she expressed her desire for accountability and unanswered questions. Attorneys have filed a lawsuit against NaphCare and members of their medical team, who provided medical treatment to inmates in the Sheriff's Office. (Atlanta CW69)
  3. Esteven Avila-Vega, 26, and his girlfriend, Sulma Mejia-Orellana, also 26, were identified as suspects in the deadly shooting of a father of six during a baby shower in Gwinnett County. Both were arrested by detectives within 12 hours of the shooting. The motive for the shooting remains unclear. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
