GWINNETT COUNTY, GA β€” A proposed budget for Gwinnett schools would bring a pay increase to teachers and support staff, according to reports.

The $2.8 billion budget proposal was presented to the school board by district staff on Monday, reported the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. If the board approves it, it would take effect July 1.

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, all GCPS employees will receive a salary step increase unless they have already reached the highest step on the pay scale. Teachers would get a $2,000 increase, while non-teaching support staff would receive at least a 4 percent cost-of-living increase, with a guaranteed minimum starting salary for these positions set at $13.50 per hour, reported the Gwinnett Daily Post.
