  1. In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, the second annual Mental Health Awareness Fair is set to take place on May 27 at Alexander Park. From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., attendees will have access to mental health professionals who will provide valuable information on mental health issues. The event aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourages people to work together to support individuals dealing with mental health challenges.   2. A juvenile suspect has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault in connection with a shooting that occurred near South Gwinnett High School in nearby Snellville earlier this week. According to investigators, the incident resulted from a drug deal in which an 18-year-old boy was shot in the leg. The victim was taken to Northside Gwinnett Hospital for treatment, while the suspect fled into the woods. (WSBTV)
  3. Tuwanda Rush Williams, the deputy county attorney of Gwinnett County, has announced her candidacy for an open Superior Court judge's seat in 2024. Williams, who has been with the county's law department since 2005, is highly respected by colleagues and friends for her legal expertise and community service. She will be stepping down from her current role on May 17 to focus on her campaign, which is centered on transparency, trust, and temperance in serving the Gwinnett County community.
