Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. Gwinnett County police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that critically injured a Dacula man. Bee Moua, 33, was walking along the side of a roadway about four miles from his residence when he was struck by a vehicle and later found in a ditch near the road. Moua was taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition. Police recovered pieces of the car that hit him and believe it to be a 2016 to 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. Dacula Elementary School was among 160 elementary schools awarded for its commitment to teaching computer science to every K-5 student. The CS1000 Awards recognize schools that submit 90-second videos describing their programs which must teach each student at least ten hours per year of computer science. Award-winning schools came from all around the United States, reflecting a new urge for tech literacy in schools. (EIN News)
  3. Master Deputy Sheriff Walter Pollock has been arrested and placed on administrative leave with intent to terminate after Gwinnett County police say he drove his patrol car under the influence of alcohol and crashed into multiple mailboxes.
