1 Dead, 5 Injured In Multi-Car Pileup On I-285 W In GA
An initial crash sparked a chain reaction collision, killing a person who was standing outside of their vehicle on I-285 in Dunwoody.
DUNWOODY, GA — A multi-car crash killed a person and injured five people Monday on Interstate 285 west near Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody Police said.
Officers responded around 4:45 a.m. to the crash. Police said three vehicles were involved in the initial crash; but then, a chain reaction occurred with multiple other vehicles.
Someone involved in the initial crash, who was standing outside of their vehicle, was hit by other vehicles, police said. The person, who was not identified, died from their injuries on scene, police said.

Five other people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital with non-threatening injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash was not revealed.
