GA Driver Killed In Pileup On I-285 W In Dunwoody ID'd

The Interstate 285 multi-car pileup killed a man and injured five other people in Dunwoody.

DUNWOODY, GA — The driver killed in a multi-car crash that injured five people Monday on Interstate 285 west near Chamblee Dunwoody Road has been identified.

Dunwoody Police on Wednesday identified the man as Victor Dimas-Paniagua, 38, of Doraville. The cause of the fatal crash was not released.

Officers responded around 4:45 a.m. to the crash. Police said three vehicles were involved in the initial crash; but then, a chain reaction occurred with multiple other vehicles.

Dimas-Paniagua was identified by police as a driver who was involved in the initial crash. Police said he was standing outside of his vehicle and died at the scene after being hit by other vehicles.

The five people who were injured were taken to the hospital, police said. Their statuses were unknown Wednesday.
