'Next-Generation' Movie Theater Experience Comes To Lawrenceville

The theater at AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 features state-of-the-art audio and visual technology and recliners that react to the movie action.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA β€” Gwinnett County movie lovers can now go to the theater in style at a new "luxury" theater in Lawrenceville.

AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 now offers a next-generation theater featuring cutting-edge image and sound technology along with comfy recliners that vibrate along with the action. Opened this week, the Dolby Cinema at AMC combine's Dolby's imaging and sound technologies with "innovative seating that takes comfort to the next level."

  • Dramatic imaging. The picture itself features "astonishing brightness, contrast and captivating color that more closely matches what the eye can see."
  • Moving audio. Sound flows all around the movie-goer, including overhead. "The breathtaking realism of the sound creates a powerfully moving experience."
  • Innovative seating. "Movie-goers enjoy next-level comfort with spacious, high-power reserved recliners that pulsate with the action."

"The Hitman's Bodyguard," starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman, currently is playing in the theater.

"Dolby Cinema at AMC is a completely captivating movie-watching experience that guests will not only enjoy, but seek out again and again," John McDonald, executive vice president of U.S. operations for AMC, said in the release.

Audiences at AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 also can enjoy their favorite beer, wine, and cocktails before and during the movie at MacGuffins Bar, a fully stocked cocktail bar located inside the theater.
