In one suburb, a 7-year-old girl was taken in by relatives after police say her father stabbed a woman to death while the child was present in the home.

Meanwhile, rescuers pulled an unresponsive swimmer from a lake, while a teenage girl was airlifted to a Chicago hospital following an ATV crash.

Woman Stabbed To Death In Domestic Incident: Police

Police believe a man stabbed a woman in her 50s to death over the weekend while his 7-year-old daughter was present in the home. The little girl was in the care of relatives after his arrest.

Unresponsive Man Pulled From Lake: Police

The man had been swimming with a companion when he appeared at the surface of the water "unconscious and unresponsive" on Saturday.

ATV Crash: Woman, 18, Flown To Chicago Hospital

An 18-year-old woman is now fighting for her life at a Chicago hospital after she crashed her ATV early Sunday evening in the suburbs, police said. According to police, the ATV was being driven by the 18-year-old with a 15- year-old boy passenger sitting behind her, and the vehicle overturned while attempting a turn at the intersection, causing both occupants to fall from the ATV.

Officers Saved Distraught Teen: City

The teen was standing on a ledge at a downtown parking garage when officers came to the rescue, according to the city.

Bones Found Hanging From Tree Turned Over To Texas Crime Lab

A bag containing both human and animal bones was found by a passerby, police said. "The assumption was that a moving car had tried to throw the bag into the canal from the Southwest Highway overpass but missed the water," the police chief said. "The bones ended up hanging from a tree instead, adjacent to the water."

Person Critically Hurt In Condo Fire

Firefighters got to the scene to find fire and smoke in a condo on the building's first floor, with a person trapped inside. They entered the unit, and got the resident out. The resident was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were last reported to be critical, as of Saturday night.

2 Shot In 'Targeted Attack': Sheriff

A man, 65, was shot in the head, and a woman, 40, was shot in the foot, police said.

Man Exposes Self Near High School: Cops

Police released surveillance images of the man, who witnesses said approached people and exposed himself.

Bullet Strikes Sleeping Woman's Headboard, Man Walking On Street Suffers Gunshot Wounds

In addition to a man being shot, two homes and a church building were struck by gunfire. One woman was lying in her bed as bullets whizzed past her head, hitting her headboard, police said.
