Fires Damage Bathrooms, Football Field: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

Antonio Valladares Garcia, 49, of the 200 block of Maureen Drive, Wheeling, had a warrant out of Cook County, is accused of driving on a revoked license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 4:03 p.m. July 4, at Weiland Road and Deerfield Parkway. He was taken to the Cook County Jail for the warrant and was assigned a court date of July 18.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A resident in the 600 block of W. Deerfield Parkway reported at 9:46 p.m. July 3, both of his car's rear tires had been punctured.
  • Police responded at 8:07 p.m. July 6, to Emmerich East Park, 151 Raupp Blvd., for a small fire near the building. They were able to put two fires out, one by the football field and the other in a port-a-pottie.
  • Police responded at 10:05 p.m. July 6, to Emmerich Park, 150 Raupp Blvd., for a fire in the bathroom of a building. Upon entering the men's bathroom, police found burnt toilet paper residue on the floor inside a stall. Another stall also had burnt toilet paper residue and there was burn damage to the stainless steel toilet paper dispenser. Police also found five matches inside a toilet bowl, each burnt at the tip.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A citizen reported to police on July 5 that on the prior night, her purse had been stolen while she had attended the Buffalo Grove fireworks display the previous night. She had parked her car in the 700 block of Lake Cook Road and noticed her purse was missing when she returned home.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of a business in the 80 block of W. Dundee Road reported at 5:41 p.m. July 6, a retail theft that had occurred earlier in the day. A person had walked into the store and stole two full displays of vapes.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLES

Police responded to the 100 block of Timber Hill Road at 11:35 p.m. July 8, for a criminal trespass call. The complainant told police someone was going through cars in the neighborhood.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident in the 200 block of Golfview Terrace reported at 6:54 a.m. July 10, that their car had been stolen the previous night.
