Freedom Home Care Celebrates 25 Years In Business

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (MARCH 2021) – As the need for in-home care rises due to COVID-19, Freedom Home Care is honored to celebrate 25 years of devoted service to its clients and families throughout the North Shore and greater Chicagoland area.

From their humble beginnings at their first location in Highland Park, Freedom Home Care has recently opened two new locations to better facilitate its growing clientele in Lake Forest and Barrington. Recognized as one of the leading and most respected home care agencies, the company has grown to servicing clients up and down Chicago’s lakeshore, throughout Cook and Lake Counties, from Hinsdale to Barrington and Buffalo Grove and every town in between.

“I have dedicated my entire career to helping others in need,” states Sharon Burack, founder of Freedom Home Care who, after working with senior citizens in the rehabilitation industry, saw the need to have seniors, and others with medical needs, live happy and healthy lives in the comfort of their own homes. She didn’t realize she tapped into an untouched and much needed industry when she started offering home care services to this ever-growing aging population over 25 years ago.

“I created a program to transition seniors into a happy and healthy lifestyle in the comfort of their own homes to be as independent as possible,” states Burack, who opened the Claremont Living and Rehab Center in 1995 and began offering home care services to those leaving her facility. “My decades of experience as an occupational therapist and CEO of a rehabilitation company Excel Care and nursing homes positioned me to have an organization focused on aging in place and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which is an emphasis at Freedom Home Care.”

As Freedom Home Care reflects on its 25th Anniversary, Burack is proud of the proactive and forward thinking steps her company has taken from the first signaling of the COVID virus. As early as March 2020, the company has been committed to helping in the best way possible to prevent the spread of COVID through education of its employees and clients and offering full PPE to ensure the safest care possible for all parties.

Freedom Home Care stands out from its competition in the industry by being one of the only home care agencies to offer COVID vaccination clinics to its staff and clients. Freedom continues to be focused on staying on top of all COVID safety protocols from sanitization procedures and proper handwashing, to regular testing and access to and education on proper PPE usage. Freedom has been hosting FREE PCR COVID testing weekly at their Highland Park office location and will continue to do so.
