Burr Ridge Sees New Low In Virus Rate Hike: Agencies

No new coronavirus deaths are reported in the village.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge's percentage increase in coronavirus cases reached a new low last week, according to county health agencies.

As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 993 coronavirus cases since the pandemic's beginning, six more cases than a week before, or a hike of six-tenths of 1 percent. The previous week's increase was nine-tenths of 1 percent. The virus has infected 9.2 percent of the town's population.

Of local coronavirus victims, the mortality rate is 3.7 percent. In the last week, Burr Ridge saw no new coronavirus deaths, with the total at 37, according to county health agencies. Most of the local deaths have been at nursing homes.

As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 92.3 coronavirus cases per thousand people, worse than most of its surveyed neighbors. The figure compares to 70.3 in Darien, 70.8 in La Grange Park, 74.3 in Western Springs, 77.6 in Hinsdale, 79.5 in DuPage County, 80.7 in Elmhurst, 85.1 in Clarendon Hills, 88 in suburban Cook County and 98.5 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
