HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board on Thursday appointed an assistant superintendent of human resources. The last one joined other officials in leaving the district.

Jodi Bryant, the director of human resources for Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233 since 2011, starts her new job July 1.

In late March, Cheryl Moore, then-assistant superintendent of human resources, gave her three-week notice that she was leaving. She gave no reason, but she submitted her resignation letter one day after a contentious board meeting.

Bryant's other roles in Homewood-Flossmoor included director of public relations, assistant principal, dean of students and teacher, according to a District 86 news release.

"Jodi's diverse background as an educator and administrator uniquely equips her to lead our human resources initiatives with vision and empathy," incoming Superintendent Michael Lach, who officially starts the same day as Bryant, said in a statement.

Bryant holds master's degrees in leadership and administration as well as curriculum and instruction.

At the May 21 board meeting, board President Catherine Greenspon chided Moore during a discussion over teachers' contracts.

After the district posted her position in April, Patch asked Moore for comment, but she declined. She told the Hinsdalean weekly newspaper, "Better not comment."

Among the high-profile resignations in recent months are interim Superintendent Linda Yonke, Communications Director Chris Jasculca, school board members Kay Gallo and Debbie Levinthal, and Hinsdale South Principal Patrick Hardy. Last summer, the board ousted Superintendent Tammy Prentiss.

After Hardy announced his planned departure last month, the district acknowledged turnover had become a problem.
