HINSDALE, IL – You're not alone if you think Hinsdale High School District 86 has experienced too much turnover in its upper ranks.

District officials agree.

This week, Patrick Hardy, Hinsdale South High School's principal, was the latest official to give his notice. On Tuesday, he was hired to become principal next year at Hampshire High School in Kane County.

"We recognize that Dr. Hardy is the latest of numerous administrators who have recently left the school district," District 86 officials said in a public statement Wednesday. "This recent turnover is an issue that impacts all stakeholders. Please know that we are working hard to listen and learn, with every intention of making District 86 the best school district in the state."

Attached to the statement were the names of school board members, the two interim superintendents and incoming Superintendent Michael Lach, who starts this summer.

Since the ouster of Superintendent Tammy Prentiss last June, a series of officials have left, some abruptly.

Among them are interim Superintendent Linda Yonke, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Cheryl Moore, Communications Director Chris Jasculca, and school board members Kay Gallo and Debbie Levinthal.

In February, it was revealed that Eric Martzolf, an assistant principal at South, was leaving to become principal of Lisle High School.

The school board meets Thursday night.
