Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued For IL

Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Cook, Will and DuPage counties.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued in southeastern DuPage County and central Cook County. According to the National Weather Service, the warning is in effect until 2:15 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Addison to near Naperville, moving southeast at 15 mph. The NWS said these storms could produce 60 mph wind gusts.

Locations impacted by these storms include: Naperville, Bolingbrook, Berwyn, Wheaton, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Addison, Glen Ellyn, Westmont, Maywood, Lisle, Villa Park, Brookfield, Franklin Park, Hinsdale, Westchester, La Grange and Forest Park.

Another warning has also been issued for northwestern Will County and south central Cook County until 2:30 p.m. This set of storms were located along a line from near Woodridge to Shorewood, moving east at 20 mph.

The NWS said locations impacted by this storm include Joliet, Bolingbrook, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Downers Grove, Romeoville, Plainfield, Lockport, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Alsip, Mokena, Frankfort, Lemont, Channahon, Worth, Burr Ridge, Willow Springs and Ingalls Park.
