Big Run Golf Club is at 17211 W. 135th St., and opened in 1930.

According to City of Lockport documents, in 2019, the City was requested to consider a residential development to replace the golf course. However, there was "little movement" from residential developers, as the site would need to be served with municipal utilities.

In November, the Lockport City Council agreed to terminate a pre-annexation agreement with Big Run Development. According to City documents, CITGO has made a commitment to Lockport to work with them in regards to the property's future.

City documents state that the open lands concept is the best option, since no new development is pending, and it's not currently feasible to get municipal utilities to the land.
