Homer Glen Resident Publishes Second Book

HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer Glen resident Tianna Gawlak has published her second book, entitled "When You Dream of Apple Pie."

Gawlak published her first book, "When You Dream of Chocolate Cake," in 2020. That book is about a mother's love expressed through baking a cake.

Her second book follows a similar theme.

Gawlak said, "When You Dream of Apple Pie," is a story about a father's love expressed through baking a pie.

"Though he is not a baker, he attempts making mom's famous recipe after a day of picking apples with his son," Gawlak said.

Gawlak told Patch she found that her second book was just as hard to write as the first book.

"However, the process overall (editing, illustrations, publishing) was a little easier because I had experience from the first book."

She said the book was inspired by her 3-year-old son, Adam, who loves apple pie.

The book, which is illustrated by Jee Astoeti was released on Aug. 1, and is available on Amazon. The book is also available in Polish.
