Ice Hockey Arena Approved In Lockport

LOCKPORT, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Lockport City Council approved a special use permit for an ice hockey development.

The council also approved preliminary and final development plans and the final subdivision plat for the project, called Summit Ice Center.

According to council documents, the ice center will be in Prime Business Campus, near 167th Street and I-355. The project will include a new 73,323-square-foot fabric dome building and a 43,673-square-foot fabric dome building.

There will be public sidewalks extended along the front of the project, including a pedestrian crossing at Salem Lane to connect to the Veterans Memorial Trail, council documents state.
