Obituary: Kathleen Frances Szabo

Local resident passes away at the age of 67.

Kathleen Frances Szabo

Kathleen Frances Szabo, age 67, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Kathleen was born on August 7, 1957, the daughter of the late Francis Louis and Florence Mary (nee Mitok) Szabo. She graduated from Joliet Township Central High School with the Class of 1975. Kathleen worked for Sears in the Tool Department, and her most recent job was at Walmart, where she worked as a cashier.

Kathleen is survived by her sisters, Rosemarie Korwin, and Carolann (Lawrence) Hoffman; nieces, Jaime Palacios, Michelle Korwin, Cynthia Szabo, and Lori (Tim) Theobald; nephews, Timothy Hoffman and Christopher Szabo; great-nieces and nephews; Edward Macholz, Nathaniel Palacios, Emma Palacios, Dante Palacios, Zoe Rose Korwin, Dylan Francis Wilson, Xander Louis Korwin, Gabriella Florence Wilson, Tyler and Emilee Theobald, and Joshua Szabo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Francis Daniel Szabo.

Funeral services for Kathleen Frances Szabo will begin at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway, Joliet, IL, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home chapel on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
