AMI Summer Music Camp - July 22-26 (EARLY REG $250)

The AMI Summer Music Camp will take place July 22-26, 2019, at AMI's Downers Grove Campus, located in downtown Downers Grove, 20 minutes west of downtown of Chicago. This day-camp is open to all instruments and levels of students, from beginner to advanced, ages 5-18yrs old, with Aftercare available until 5:30pm.

AMI Summer Music Camp is held Monday - Friday, with each day consisting of five various instructional and academic classes, a lunch period and orchestra or band.

"The AMI Camp is an exciting, educational and fun way to spend part of the summer playing music," Executive Director Remus Badea says. " while being trained by amazing AMI Faculty, hailing from local colleges and universities."

AMI offers three separate camps, designed for students of varying ages and playing levels; Beginner Camp, Little Mozart and Young Artist...

- Beginner Camp (9am-1pm) is designed for students ages 5-12, and is intended for students with no previous playing experience. The camp will explore many instruments each day. Students will have a chance to play all instruments and create music, along with composing songs and playing together. The camp is intended to cultivate and nurture creativity in a fun, no-pressure environment.

- Little Mozart Camp (9am-3pm) is designed for students ages 5-12, and is intended for students who have been studying an instrument for more than one year. The camp will focus on creating a positive and rewarding environment for students to expand their musical knowledge in music theory, history, composition, instrument pedagogy, chamber music and orchestra or band. This camp is ideal for students involved in a school band, orchestra or choir.

- Young Artist Camp (9am-3pm) is designed for students ages 13-18, and is geared towards students with more advanced instrumental experience. The Young Artist Camp allows students to focus in on their skills, explore their musical interests while learning more advanced techniques on their instruments. Students will also gain instruction in music theory, history, composition, instrument pedagogy, chamber music and orchestra or band.
