Lemont Heritage Fest: Entertainment, Dunk Tank Line-Up

The 29th annual Heritage Fest will be held Saturday, July 13, in downtown Lemont.

LEMONT, IL — There's always a lot to do in the summers in Lemont, and one of the most popular events of the summer is Heritage Fest. The 29th annual Heritage Fest will be held Saturday, July 13, in downtown Lemont. The fest will be held from 4 to 11 p.m. and offers entertainment, kids activities and more.

Here is a schedule of activities at Heritage Fest:

Main Stage Attractions (4 to 11 p.m.)

  • 4 to 5 p.m., "Polonie" Dance group', The Hound Dogs, and local talent
  • 5:30 to 8 p.m., "Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band"
  • 8:30 to 11 p.m., "Infinity

Dunk Tank

Several volunteers will line up to get Dunked for a Cause. You can visit the Dunk Tank from 4 to 8 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Hope and Friendship Foundation. Volunteers include: Mayor John Egofske, village trustee Dave Maher, library board trustee Tom Burton, park district commissioner Julie Mescher, and several others.

Kids entertainment and activities (4 to 8 p.m.)

  • Activities offered include: face painting, balloon artists, obstacle course, extreme air, zip line, smash the car, miracle express train and pony rides.

Several roads will be closed on July 13 due to the fest:

  • The parking lot behind the Stanton Building, 106 Stephen St., will be closed all day.
  • Stephen Street will be closed from the tracks north to Front Street.
  • Lemont Street will be closed from Canal Street north to the canal.
  • Front Street will be closed from noon to 9 p.m.
  • Canal Street will be closed between Lemont Street and Stephen Street.
  • Talcott will be closed from Stephen Street to the Talcott Municipal Lot entrance.
  • North end of the north Talcott Municipal lot will be closed for activities. South Talcott Municipal lot also closed.
